Peaches

The sweetest juiciest peaches were harvested from our orchard this year around mid-late January. We picked (and ate) most of them, leaving a few behind for the birds which I’m not sure was a good idea really.
We also took some home for my parents but discovered putting them in a bag of ice for the trip home was a terrible idea. They also got mouldy very quickly which made me wonder what big supermarkets do to keep them lasting so long.

There was also a tree of unripened fruit nearby (possibly nectarines) which we left to pick on the next trip down. Unfortunately life got in the way and we couldn’t get back to the property for quite a few weeks and sadly the fruit had shrivelled up by then it was so disappointing.
We’ll know better for next time!
